My images are influenced by the wonderful world of magic, myth, ancient legends  & spiritual practices.  For me it's almost an exploration of the mystery between folklore and faith.        I believe that life is multidimensional and that there is always more than what we can actually see.  I strive to do the same with my artwork.  I'll start with an idea, symbol or  suggestion to get my basic design then weave in images within images.     Many of my paintings contain gold pigment with embellishments of 18k or 22k gold leaf.   I am a member of the Worldwide Women Artists Cooperative and have been published by both the New York Spirit and The Door Opener magazines.  I have sold my work internationally as well as through festivals, boutiques and galleries.   Other credits include having served as a Board Member of the Swing Bridge Arts, as an artistic consultant & judge and illustrated two privately published children’s books.  I have recently finished illustrating author Debbie Guzzi's book of poetry due out this holiday season.         In the News On November 16, 2006I was interviewed by Brian Sherwin at MyArtSpace.com.  Click the link below to read the full article.  http://www.myartspace.com/blog/2006/11/art-space-talk-maureen-girard-mason.html Please click here to view my résumé.
